Cookie policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
The short answer: Cuotal does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you will not see a cookie banner. This page explains what we store on your device, what it is for and how you can manage it. This is a courtesy translation: the Spanish version is the legally binding one and prevails in the event of any discrepancy.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files that websites store in your browser. Local storage (localStorage on the web, or the system’s secure storage in the mobile apps) serves a similar purpose: remembering information between sessions. The rules (Article 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI and the AEPD’s guidance on the use of cookies) treat both techniques the same way: they require consent, except for what is strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested.
2. What Cuotal does NOT use
Cuotal does measure product usage and diagnose errors (PostHog and Sentry; the details are in the Privacy Policy), but it does so WITHOUT cookies and WITHOUT storing anything on your device: identity comes from your login, not from a stored identifier, and you can object from Settings → Data. There is no advertising, commercial profiling or cross-site tracking, and we do not load social media pixels or advertising SDKs either. Since we only use technical storage exempt from consent, we do not need —or show you— a cookie banner.
For the same reason, your browser’s “Do Not Track” signal changes nothing: we do not track you, whether you send it or not.
3. What we store on your device
Everything Cuotal stores on your device is technical and serves a feature you have asked for:
- Your session (Supabase authentication tokens): so you do not have to log in every time. On the web it is kept in the browser’s local storage; in the mobile apps, in the system’s encrypted secure storage. It lasts until you log out.
- Working cache (your recent data and changes pending synchronisation): so the app is fast and works on unstable connections. In the mobile apps it is stored encrypted. It is deleted when you log out.
- Your preferences (language and light/dark theme), only if you choose them manually.
- Your usage-analytics preference, only if you turn it off in Settings → Data: we store the “no” in order to honour it.
- Your subscription status (a local copy of your plan): so it does not have to be fetched on every screen.
4. Third-party cookies when paying
When you subscribe or manage your subscription, payment takes place on Stripe’s pages (Checkout and the customer portal), which open on Stripe’s domain. There Stripe uses its own cookies, strictly necessary to process the payment and prevent fraud, in accordance with its own cookie policy (stripe.com).
5. How to manage this storage
Logging out removes the session and the working cache from your device. You can also clear the site data from your browser settings, or uninstall the mobile app. The only effect is that you will have to log in again and choose your preferences once more.
6. Changes to this policy
If we ever add analytics or another technology requiring consent, we will update this policy and ask for your permission first, with a proper banner. The date of the current version always appears at the top of the document.
